The sun shines down at the Nuclear Power Plant Krümmel on April 10. The waters of the river Elbe have reached a record level even higher than the so-called "Great Flood" in August 2002. A flood hardly troubles the power plant. The opposite, however, if there is not enough water available for cooling purposes during dry summers, capacity has to be reduced. More than half of the thermal energy ends up in the river.
