Breaking waves at Manarola

The weather can be tricky in autumn. Twice within a week we faced an official weather alert with nearly all shops and restaurants closed.

Trail to Riomaggiore

The easier trail down on the coast was not passable due to landslides. Repairing it is one problem, but avoiding future landslides is an even bigger one.

Train

All villages in Cinque Terre are accessible by train, a crazy route through tunnels and over bridges. This route was already opened in 1874!
