The view goes to the northwest from a point above Acharavi on the northern end of Corfu.

Islands It's the same coastal strip like above, only from higher up. The islands are Erikousa, Othonoi, and the tip of Mathraki.	Flowers Even in autumn there are a few flowers left. Sternbergia lutea, autumn daffodil.

Adriatic Sea From a rocky beach in Sidari we see the mountainous Albanian shore. And the blue sea.	Grass The plants high over Cape Drastis on the northwestern tip of Corfu make a good contrast to the trampled-on foreground.

These cliffs were carved out of sediments and often appear on postcards.

New Venetian Fortress It's only called new, because there is still an older one.	Canal A canal separates the Old Fortress from the island as an obstacle for attackers.

Cannons A few old guns are on display in the premisses of the Old Fortress.	Guilford Frederick North, the 5th Earl of Guilford, founded a university on Corfu.

Built on a rock, it governs the waters of Kerkyra, which is the Greek name of the island.

Peritheia An old church in the ruined village, which is now becoming a tourist attraction.	Ruin Another small house on the beach, its purpose unknown.

Abandoned cars and the like were a common sight, some of them even a good motive.

Albania From the northern shore of Corfu we see the Albanian coast.	Rocky shore Limestone, common on the Adriatic coast, forms bizarre rocks.

A flower and some palms, of which there are not too many on Corfu.

Old monastery A ruined monastery near Nimfes.	Olive press Inside the abandoned building there is still the equipment used to process olives.

Harbor A few boats are moored in the entrance to the Antonioti lagoon.	Inland Olive trees are abundant on Corfu. There are also a few places of original forest.
